Effective July 1, 2024, Venmo is raising transaction fees for receiving payments tagged by the sender as a goods and services purchase to 2.99% per transaction. Lyca Mobile has petitioned the FCC to protect competition in the MVNO market, accusing T-Mobile of using its market dominance post-mergers with Sprint and Mint Mobile to undermine rivals. According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, T-Mobile and Verizon may each purchase a piece of US Cellular. AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon have been fined in total nearly $200,000,000 for illegally selling subscribers real-time locations. The FCC expects to finalise the fines and announced on April 29 it had completed its Notices of Apparent Liability issued against the carriers in February 2020. NWIDA has learned that Boost will begin fining dealers if they do not adhere to required operating hours. As shown in the image above, dealers who are not open Monday-Saturday from 10:00 – 7:00 and Sunday from 12:00 – 5:00 will be fined up to $250.00 per day – starting May 1.
