While the official vote date remains unchanged from April 16, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has proposed to conditionally approve the T-Mobile/Sprint merger (see below.) Another small step in the T-Mobile Sprint merger has taken place, as the “new T-Mobile” reached a settlement with California Attorney General Xavier Becerra. T-Mobile has announced a merger completion date of April 1 (ironic, if you ask us), but the CPUC is insisting they won’t meet to discuss the last step in the merger until April 16. The Wall St. Journal is reporting that Verizon and some 5G services will be available, at least as a trial, in Walmart.
