Boost Begins T-Mobile Network Access

Boost mobile logo - BOOST MOBILE SETS END OF LIFE DATE FOR 3G DEVICE ACTIVATIONS - NWIDAWhile the sale of Boost to Dish isn’t officially complete, the MVNO has begun offering service on the “new” T-Mobile network, in some areas – as has the Sprint brand.

Currently only in select areas, they could launch this across the country by next month. Wave7 Research has noticed that Boost has been working to transition to T-Mobile  – no surprise as access to the T-Mobile network was part of the Dish deal AND that T-Mobile publicly said they would be turning off the Sprint network. Boost’s employees and dealers have undergone training during the transition period.

Four test markets have access to the new network – Colorado, Kansas, Pittsburgh, and Texas – and you’ll need one of these phones:

LG K51  | LG Stylo 5X  | Motorola Moto E6  | Motorola Moto G7 Play | Samsung Galaxy A10e | Samsung Galaxy A20

In a small number of markets, however, the prepaid brand will remain under Sprint’s network – for now – because the network strength is better there.

As Boost gears up for this change, they have put up a page on their website that talks about the new network.

Bring your own device is not allowed, but Boost will be adding additional devices, including iPhones devices (from iPhone 6 and up) will have access to the network.
You will also need to purchase a new T-Mobile network SIM and the device must be activated by a dealer. Once your device has been activated on the new network, you won’t be able to go back to the old Sprint network.
