The Sprint / T-Mobile merger inched a bit closer to reality when NY AG Leticia James said she would not appeal the recent lawsuit decision to allow the merger. In a statement, Attorney General James said the decision to respect the court’s ruling was made after thorough analysis, and added attention would now turn to working to Read more…

Wellllll… to quote Monty Python I’m not dead yet Apparently DT (parent of T-Mobile) has been pushing to change the terms the merger with Sprint. It seems DT isn’t pleased with Sprint’s poor performance over the last two years, according to the Financial Times. Two sources told the newspaper DT pressed Softbank (parent of Sprint) to reduce Read more…

As we said when the deal was first announced, our concern and concentration has been and continues to be the over 40,000 independently owned wireless dealers and repair shops. We call on Dish to work with us, as well as the Boost dealers and Masters, to ensure these thousands of small-medium sized businesses and the tens of Read more…

Of course, there are the carrier owned MVNOs (Virgin – which is migrating to Boost – Boost and Metro), Read more…

What? Yep – well, maybe. While (we know) the FCC and DoJ have approved the merger, there are still a bunch of states suing to stop it. And, while the trial ended last month, will the losing side appeal? Could be – and that would add more “time to the clock.” But, even outside of that, if Read more…

Now, they’re announcing they are not dropping any of their current networks. And they’re doing it in a video, which is embedded below. When it made the announcement last year, Ting was Read more…

Yesterday, we reported that Sprint had announced they’ve killed off the Virgin Mobile brand, and will be moving all those customers to Boost. Today we learned that the Virgin Group will be taking the Virgin Mobile brand back. Virgin is still deciding whether they will relaunch the brand in the US under a new identity. A representative Read more…
