Verizon Sets (Yet Another) Date for 3G Retirement

Yep – they’ve done it again.

First it was December, 2020.       Then, in January,  they pushed it without a firm date

Now, they’ve pushed the EoL for 3G… again.  According to Coverage Critic (link below) Verizon has stated that they are have been actively decommissioning their 3G CDMA network.

The new date is the end of 2022. Verizon says this is

in order to care for our customers and give them every effort to minimize disruptions to their service as they move to newer and more advanced technologies.

Verizon says less than 1% of their customers are still accessing the 3G network.

They also said it would not push back the retirement deadline again. (Let’s see!)

Here’s the link to the Coverage Critic story.
