Before T-Mobile “launched” “TVision” on November 1, it already had a home TV product called….”TVision”. Well, the older one is shutting down on December 30 2020 at 3:00AM (quite specific for them.)
The older TV used IPTV technology from 2017.
This of course comes shortly after the November 1st launch of the company’s new live TV streaming service — also called TVision. The new TVision works via an app that’s available across many platforms and over a $50 4K Android TV dongle. The older version required a more traditional set-top box.
If you’re currently a subscriber to the older TVision Home cable service, T-Mobile says your subscription will be cancelled automatically when the service shuts down at the end of December.
If you’ve been a subscriber since before November 1, T-Mo will offer you free access to the new TVision through June 30, 2021.
