NY Assemblymember Patricia Fahy introduced Assembly Bill 8955 on Jan. 30, which would amend New York’s Digital Fair Repair Act. Verizon has announced that their unlimited 5G Home Internet is now available at Total by Verizon stores.   The 5G Home Internet plan starts at $45/month and customers must purchase the Home Internet Router to receive Total by Verizon 5G Home Internet service.   You can find more information from the press release HERE.

Apparently, the DoJ is preparing an antitrust case against Apple and may file it as soon as March – according to Bloomberg.  DOJ and Apple attorneys have met multiple times over a potential suit, citing people familiar with the matter. The case would focus on software and hardware limitations on iPhones and iPads that impede competitive services. Read more…

As we mentioned a while back a company called RetroBrands started using the Nextel name and brand, claiming it was abandoned by T-Mobile after they bought Sprint. T-Mobile disagreed – and filed suit. The FCC has announced that new “nutrition labels” (sample to the left) must be displayed by April 10, 2024. The majority of providers must display at the point of sale clear, easy-to-understand, and accurate information about the cost and performance of broadband services; providers with 100,000 or fewer subscriber lines must do so by October 10, 2024.
