Apparently, the DoJ is preparing an antitrust case against Apple and may file it as soon as March – according to Bloomberg.  DOJ and Apple attorneys have met multiple times over a potential suit, citing people familiar with the matter. As we mentioned a while back a company called RetroBrands started using the Nextel name and brand, claiming it was abandoned by T-Mobile after they bought Sprint. T-Mobile disagreed – and filed suit. The FCC has announced that new “nutrition labels” (sample to the left) must be displayed by April 10, 2024. The majority of providers must display at the point of sale clear, easy-to-understand, and accurate information about the cost and performance of broadband services; providers with 100,000 or fewer subscriber lines must do so by October 10, 2024. Device insurance company Akko has acquired the assets of Upsie – the device protection plan and repair company. As such, Upsie has updated it’s LinkedIn page: Upsie went out of business in October, 2023 and while their website is still up, the company has been dormant since then. NWIDA is concerned about the dealer network for Ultra if and when the Ka’ena/T-Mobile merger goes through. The class action lawsuit between dealers (attorney Hermina Law Group) and T-Mobile (and Master Dealer Arch Telecom) will continue. Mediation failed between the two parties as they were unable to come to a settlement agreement – according to a US District Judge.
