I was having a discussion about “unlimited” data a few years ago with an owner of one of the mid-sized MVNOs. While his company offered “unlimited data” on certain rate plans – you had to read the fine print. As he told me “unlimited doesn’t mean unreasonable.” No one offered “true” unlimited data – not without severe speed throttling.
Well, AT&T has stopped that – at least for their “Unlimited Elite” plan. Those plan subscribers will no longer be throttled based on how much data they use.
They join T-Mobile who did this back in April for most of their rate plans.
