National Wireless Independent Dealer Association

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to go to the New York dealer event, hosted by Total Wireless and Verizon. We love these dealer events – and  wish more carriers, brands and MVNOs would do them. It’s a great way for the dealers, Masters and service providers to get together, share concerns and future plans (oh, and learn more about NWIDA!) In addition, there are usually dealer service providers there – in this case dealers could get more info on marketing / sales materials, new Master Agents, PIN/POS providers and more.

In addition, it’s a great way for NWIDA to chat with the dealers directly – and get some info from the service providers. Speaking of which…

Total laid out its plans for store growth – stating they currently have 1000 stores nationwide – and are looking to grow that number substantially. They touched on new product offerings for the dealers, as well new marketing tools already in place for current Total dealers.

Verizon brought out the big guns for this event, including CRO David (DK) Kim and AVP Jay Miglionico. Jay emphasised that Total wants to be “Dealer focused” and offer a “post-paid experience at prepaid plans” for their customers.
