Earlier this week, T-Mobile subscribers were affected by 12 hour long outage. Those affected had problems with texting and calling.
T-Mobile explained that the outage was caused by a fiber failure. The backup redundancy also failed. After that, the network overloaded, which caused capacity issues.
It was a leased fiber circuit failure from a third-party provider that was the cause of the major outbreak – and most likely why other carriers had similar issues.
