T-Mobile has agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit related to its most recent cyberattack. The settlement is for $350 million, and a promise to spend an additional $150 million on data security and related technology over the next two years. The settlement is subject to court approval.
T-Mobile added the settlement included no admission of liability, wrongdoing or responsibility.
T-Mobile disclosed that data on tens of millions of current and prospective customers had been exposed, and they offered impacted users two years of free identity protection. No customer financial information had been compromised but other information such as names, addresses, dates of birth and driver license details had been.
