Echostar is at it again. They’re selling MORE spectrum – this time their AWS-3 licenses – to SpaceX. This sale nets them another $2.6B in SpaceX stock. So, combine this with the sale of spectrum that SpaceX bought in September, and we ask the question: Is SpaceX trying to be a mobile carrier? Industry analyst Roger Entner says it’s certainly possible: With the addition of AWS-3 spectrum, “he can cobble together a network with that,” Time will tell what SpaceX will do with their newly acquired licenses. |
