Nearly a month ago, it was reported that Metro by T-Mobile will start charging a $15 plus tax fee every time customers will change their device.
Many pointed out that this $15 charge had already been in place for quite some time. The difference though is that the T-Mobile prepaid brand waived the fees at certain instances.
In the report, it was speculated that Metro would start implementing the charge by November 18. But the planned $15 charge did not take place until last week– when Metro confirmed it would be enforcing the fee.
But after getting complaints from customers, it looks like Metro is loosening its rule on this new policy.
According to TmoNews, customers can continue to have their device changed for free over the phone. Existing Metro customers are advised to call 611, *288 or 888-8metro8 in order to complete a device change without facing any charges.
