Leigh Hunt, CEO and Founder of Beast Mobile (along with Marshawn Lynch) has launched a new MVNO called Flex Mobile – running on the AT&T network.
A long time wireless executive, Hunt has started and run multiple MVNOs.
As we like to say – every MVNO needs to have a Differentiator and a Distribution strategy. With over 170 MVNOs in the US, you need to be able to stand out.
Flex Mobile customers have no monthly bill. Instead, they will pay by the week. Flex states its services cost “$7.50 to start & $7.50 every week for unlimited talk, text & 5G data.” Data is unlimited, however anything over 5GB during the month will be reduced to 2G speeds for the remainder of that service cycle. They say there are no late fees or overdrafts.
Flex Mobile advertises “Tired of your prepaid cellphone service getting shut off the day you miss a payment? Get Flex Mobile & never worry about that again.”
On the Flex Mobile’s website it states its mission is to allow customers to choose the days that they pay their critical bills so they don’t have to worry about making payments and having enough funds to pay on days that don’t work best for them.
The company is looking to become a payment center for other bills as well. Per their website “As we expand to other bills, we hope to become your hassle-free bill payment center; where you get to easily arrange and manage your finances without stress.”
It appears Flex Mobile is NOT related to flexmobile.ca – the phone wholesaler in Canada.
