For a while now, Google Fi has worked on multiple networks – pulling in the strongest signal. Signal strength is key – right? It doesn’t matter what your phone can do if you can’t get a signal.
It appears Trac has realized they own MVNOs on all 4 networks, AND is apparently working on a “smart SIM” which will do the same thing – pull in the strongest signal.
Makes perfect sense.
According to a report by Fierce Wireless (link below), Trac is currently in the early stages of the offer. A video was sent to certain Trac customers, who were prompted to input their zip code to check whether or not the service is already available in their area. Surprisingly, the major zip codes for Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York show that “SmartSIM isn’t available in your area yet, get notified when it arrives.”
