Good move by T-Mobile – especially right before the holidays!
The FCC has designated 988 as the nationwide emergency lifeline for mental health support. T-Mobile is the first to make this number live – and they did it way before the mandated deadline of July 2022.
T-Mobile announced its customers can now call 988 to get free mental health support. The support is provided by the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), which is comprised of 180 local and state-funded crisis centers.
Apart from the designated 988 number, users can also dial 1-800-273-8255 (1-800-273-TALK). But the new number is much easier and faster to remember for anyone who needs support
