Repair.org reports there is now matching bills in the NY State Senate (S.6309) and Assembly (A.8416-A) This will allow Right to Repair to move to a vote — provided that leadership wants to schedule a vote.
The more phone calls and messages we can put into legislators, the better the odds. The following are the 3 things that are the most important for you to ask of your representatives:
1. Sign on as a co-sponsor the Digital Fair Repair Act
2. Contact the Bill Sponsor (Breslin in the Senate and Lupardo in the Assembly) to express their support
3. Tell their legislative leader to bring the Digital Fair Repair Act to a vote.
You can use the repair.org portal to write an email and more effectively — call them directly. Just tell them you want your Right to Repair, reference the bill numbers, and remind them to do the above.
