We are saddened to learn of the passing our our Board Member and great friend, Phil Katz.
Phil was one of the founding forces behind NWIDA, and a long time wireless industry veteran – not to mention a huge NY Giant fan. His company, All Points Marketing, was the first ever Master Agent in the wireless business in the New York Market and Phil will be missed by everyone who ever met him.
Thank you, Phil – for all you’ve done for us, and G-dspeed. Rest In Peace.

Boom! Mobile has filed for bankruptcy chapter 11. In addition, Boom has discontinued offering their “red” service and their offering of “purple” is currently under review. The FCC has proposed new “Know Your Customer” (KYC) requirements that would require wireless providers to collect identifying information from every new and renewing customer. If adopted, the proposal would effectively eliminate anonymous prepaid wireless service in the United States.
