AT&T and Cricket (see below) have announced the shutdown schedule of their 3G network: Starting January 19, 2021 activations of non HD (non-VoLTE) devices will be blocked. MobileWorld Live reported (link below) that T-Mobile has agreed to buy assets from former Sprint affiliate Brookings Municipal Utilities (BMU), in a bid to strengthen its coverage and distribution in parts of two states. Metro by T-Mobile has added a device trade-in program allowing dealers will be able to accept customer devices as a credit towards a new device.  According to, well themselves, Metro sells between 15 and 16 million devices each year and they estimate 30% of their customers plan on selling or trading a device in when they upgrade. T-Mobile has started sending out notices to its business customers, which states the company will fully shut down Sprint’s CDMA network “on or around January 1, 2022.” Devices that support Sprint’s LTE connectivity will continue to work after that date, but CDMA-only phones won’t be able to connect.
