According to an article on SDX Central, AT&T will leave Puerto Rico and the USVI and sell its network. Both wireless and wireline networks, as well as its spectrum and 1.1 million customers of both Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are included. The buyer is Liberty Latin America.
The FCC and DoJ will have to approve the transaction, but the companies are confident it will pass and they expect the deal to close within six to nine months. About 1,300 AT&T employees will also move to Liberty Latin America.
