Recently, Light Reading (link below) posted a story about EchoStar (Dish/Boost parent) getting ready to make deals with the smaller cable operators for their MVNOs.

NWIDA spoke with Dish last November about their wholesale division and was informed that while they weren’t launched yet, they were getting close. This seems to prove that out.

In addition to their own 5G network, Dish is able in certain cases to offer roaming.

It makes sense that EchoStar has an interest in working with cable companies – especially the smaller ones. While the large cable companies already have deals with Verizon and T-Mobile, there are over 700 cable companies in the US, leaving EchoStar plenty to sign. The National Content & Technology Cooperative is helping some of these independent cable operators get into the mobile game.
