Hello Exhibitors and Sponsors!
MAY IS INDEPENDENT WIRELESS RETAILER MONTH
We will be recognizing and celebrating the impact of the independently owned retailer – sales and/or repair. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the wireless communications industry stood out. Consumers and businesses relied on their devices more than ever before – it was these devices that allowed people to stay in touch and business to continue.
At one point, according to Wave 7 Research, less than 23% of Verizon and T-Mobile corporate stores were open, yet almost 3x that number of independents kept going – many with reduced staff. When phones needed a repair, and clients needed new equipment or additional accessories to meet the demand, these men and women – across brands and across the country – stepped up to provide these services. Wireless communications stores were among the first industries to be given “essential service” status and among the first to adopt safety procedures in retail environments.
NWIDA and CDI are working in concert with governors, legislators, carriers, manufacturers, suppliers, MVNOs and Master Agents to bring recognition for dealers in the month of May. In fact, we have already received a Gubernatorial Proclamation for the month and are confident we will be receiving the same from additional states.
The celebration will culminate with the Digital Success Summit (DSS) ‘21 virtual conference- which will take place during the entire month.
DSS ’21 will feature new content each day of May. Keynote presentations from industry leaders on The Future of Wireless will kick off each day. Top-level executives from carriers, MVNOs and manufacturers will provide the keynotes. We will have additional tracks including Making Money in Wireless and Maximizing Store Income. There will be dozens of sessions on topics like Recruiting, Theft/Fraud Prevention, Legal Issues, Driving Store Traffic, Sales and other areas that impact the sales, profitability and operational efficiency. Fixit Fridays will incorporate the repair store world, with sessions from leading repair schools, repair parts companies and others.
Exhibitors and Sponsors will have added benefits as well. You can d/l our Exhibitor/Sponsor deck at www.nwida.org/files/DSS/DSS21.pdf (If you’re an MVNO or MNO, please use www.nwida.org/files/DSS/DSS21MVNO.pdf) and we invite you to watch the brief video below.
