Will the DoJ Delay the CDMA Shutdown By T-Mobile?

The DoJ has issued a letter to attorney’s from Dish and T-Mobile (see below) regarding the planned CDMA shutdown by T-Mobile and it’s impact on Boost Mobile customers.

In the letter, the Acting Assistant Attorney General – Richard Powers – states:

After careful consideration of the Parties’ submissions and arguments, the Division is left with grave concerns about the potential for a nationwide CDMA shutdown to leave a substantial proportion of Boost’s customers without service.

The letter goes on to say the Department cannot reach any “conclusions today”, but it’s a clear sign that if T-Mobile and Boost (Dish) can’t figure this out on their own, the DoJ could certainly step in.
