uBreakiFix Bought by Asurion

Asurion has confirmed the deal; the terms are not immediately known.

uBreakiFix co-founder Justin Wetherill said in a prepared statement.

Orlando remains an integral part of the past, present and future of uBreakiFix, and uBreakiFix will continue to operate its headquarters at its home office in Orlando.

UBreakiFix has roughly 350 Central Florida employees. The company has 516 stores with 2,000 employees throughout the U.S., 4.8 million customers and 6 million phones, tablets, laptops and consoles repaired. The company reported $254 million in 2018 revenue.

UBreakiFix was founded in 2009 by Wetherill and two of his friends while they were students at the University of Central Florida.

Insurance company Asurion has bought repair shop chain uBreakiFix for an undisclosed amount. First reported on the bizjournals (Orlando) website (see below), the details are not yet available, but it has been confirmed by several dealers as well.

According to their website, uBreakiFix has 509 locations across America.
