AT&T Having Issues Since 3G Shutdown

AT&T - NWIDAAT&T has been having issues with certain phones since the 3G shutdown – and I don’t mean 3G phones.

In fact, it happened to me – on an iPhone 12. All of a sudden all outbound calls received the message Call Failed and all inbound went directly to voice mail.

I got lucky and got an inbound Customer Service rep who knew what to do. Apparently, the fix is an update push to the phone – at least that worked for me.

AT&T is (obviously) aware of the issue and is working on a global fix. This is also impacting AT&T MVNOs (we’ve seen the same on H2O for example.)

I’m on ATT MVNO Cricket. Only one of my four lines is working. After numerous phone calls Cricket now says I need to buy new phones. This despite my phones supporting all Cricket’s 4G LTE bands and having HD Voice.

Stay far away from ATT.
